New Government of Serbia elected

Members of the Serbian parliament have elected a new government of the Republic of Serbia, to be led by Prime Minister Miloš Vučević. 152 out of a total of 213 MPs present voted for the election of the new government by public vote, 61 MPs voted against the proposal, there were no abstentions, and 37 MPs were absent.

The Prime Minister and the members of the new government took the oath of office in the presence of the Speaker of the Serbian parliament, MPs and President of the Republic Aleksandar Vučić.

The new government of Serbia has 31 members, five of whom are ministers without portfolio.

The debate on the proposal for the composition of the new government of Prime Minister candidate Miloš Vučević, who gave a keynote address the day before and presented the future members of the new government, lasted two days, the Government of Serbia says in an announcement.


The Serbian government held yesterday its first session in the new mandate and adopted solutions necessary for the functioning of the Office of Prime Minister Miloš Vučević.

Novak Nedić was re-elected Secretary-General of the Serbian government.

Regular sessions of the Serbian government will continue to be held every Thursday, as prescribed by the government's Rules of Procedure.
