Nelt is a proud participant in the SPATRA (Space-Based Applications for Transport Monitoring and Management) project which is carried out in cooperation with the European Union Agency for the Space Programme (EUSPA) under the auspices of the European Commission. The project started in January this year and will last two years, with the aim of improving transport through the innovations of the European satellite technology.
Nelt is part of the consortium which also includes the following: OHB (Germany) Twist Robotics (Ukraine) Zentrix Lab (Estonia), Zentrix Lab (Serbia), University of Nis (Serbia), and participates in the SPATRA project in the role of an end-user of the road transport service.

– Our company, in synergy with Zentrix Lab, is participating in the development of a road transport app with the focus on an improved prediction of delay times at border crossings, as well as the availability of truck parking lots near the border crossing where the drivers make law-mandated pauses. This information will help transport companies to improve the efficiency, reduce the risk of delays and optimize the transport routes. The task of the Nelt team is to contribute to the creation of the app through the rich knowledge and experience it has – stated Andrej Doskovic, the manager of sales and development of international logistics services at Nelt.
Doskovic points out that the project is a result of the synergy of the companies and that it will bring considerable benefits for the transport community. In addition to the operating and financial benefits, the continuation of the cooperation with the European Commission and the possibility of the use of EU grants for future projects are expected.

The SPATRA project aims to develop innovative apps for road and rail transport and logistics using the European network of satellites and the technology for the positioning of vehicles and drones. Its main task is to solve the key challenges in transport and logistics, improve the efficiency and sustainability of transport in Europe, raise awareness about the European satellite technologies Galileo and Copernicus, and promote them and have them accepted in countries outside the EU.
All information about the SPATRA project can be found on the official EUSPA webpage and the Instagram, X and LinkedIn pages. The webpage of the project will soon be activated.
