“Serbia After the Auctions” will be the working title of the RES SERBIA 2023 Conference which will be held in the green environment of the ethno complex Vrdnicka Kula on Fruska Gora on September 14, as announced by the RES Serbia Association.

The conference, which is only 30 days away, is held at the most relevant possible moment – a month after the submission of auction bids for 400 MW of wind power and 50 MW of solar power. The bid submission deadline expired on August 14 at 11.59 pm. Over the next five days, the Commission will be examining the validity of the documentation and whether it is complete, after which it will be evaluated and a ranking list will be formed, based on which the quota is to be filled. The final results will be known 15 days from the forming of the ranking list at the latest.

Judging by the information from the market, the interest in the auctions is big, so nearly all investors which meat the criteria in the sense of project development and whose construction is certain in the foreseeable future, have applied for both contests. The maximum auction price of EUR 105 per MWh for wind farms, and EUR 90 per MWh for solar power plants, which RES Serbia advocated in order to have the auction process be competitive, proved to be attractive to a large number of investors.

All that, the plans for auctions in 2024, the potential market solutions for RES projects which will be realized outside auction incentives, the market model of the buyout of electrical energy, the situation in the field of wind and solar energy in Serbia and Europe, the challenges of the financing of RES projects, as well as the trends of the energy transition in the region, will be discussed at the third RES SERBIA conference.
